Eerie Bird Superstitions

As I was crawling out of bed a couple of mornings ago I was surprised that a bird flew right up and landed on the windowsill outside. It looked to be the very largest, fattest blue jay I have ever seen. It looked in at me and tapped three times on the window with its beak. My granddaughter is constantly finding feathers. When she was small I repeated to her what I had been told, that when you find a feather, it means that someone who died is thinking of you. I've been thinking that we don't feature photos of the sky very much for our Free Wallpaper. I've always liked this particular photo so that's just the one I'll share with you this time. Why Do Roses Have Thorns?

Roses are some of the most beautiful and sought after flowers. You can quickly pick most kinds of flowers and take a big smell and feel good for a little while after. But if you try that with a rose you might just get a finger pricked with one of its thorns. Maybe our first reaction is that it's such a shame that roses have thorns that could hurt us this way.
