Prairie Sky

Today's Free Wallpaper shows the kind of open scenery that is just perfect to use as desktop wallpaper. I could never have taken a picture like this from so close to the city where I lived before. Here in the countryside of Iowa the possibilities are unlimited. Maybe one of these times I might bring you a picture of the place that is named after my family.

Let's not talk any further. My tale has been told. Let's get to the photo, before we get old.

The Everyday Adventurer is my nature blog where I tell stories of my daily nature hikes and the things I encounter, with more photos like this one. Rat Tales is where I get to share some of the fiction that I write. No photos there though, just some very cool stories.

  1. Scenes like this make me long for the Canadian Prairies. One third land and two thirds sky. Wonderful!

I'll bet they're very similar to those wonderful prairies here in Iowa. I'll be showing a lot of them from now on.

Broken Kettle preserve is actually only a few miles from where I live. My grandparents' old farm where my family comes from is on Broken Kettle Road.

And there's plenty of extra sky here to show those pictures.
