Quiet Boardwalk

What would it be like to hike deep into the forest and then see a light in the darkness as if you were coming out of a tunnel? You approach that light to see a wooden walkway that seems to go on forever into the distance. What will you find when you travel that far distance to the end of that quiet boardwalk? It's all up to your imagination.

I took this photo with my Canon PowerShot A590 SX20 IS. I was on a hiking trip at Maybury State Park, where I was able to get very many excellent photos of scenery. The place is absolutely beautiful, but much of that beauty is hidden in far corners that you have to make a good effort to find. It is very worth it when you do find these hidden sections of paradise.

The Everyday Adventurer is my nature blog where I tell stories of my daily nature hikes and the things I encounter, with more photos like this one. Rat Tales is where I get to share some of my fiction that I write. It's not updated often, but there are enough stories there to like.

  1. What a great picture. Wish I had the time to sit and daydream about where that boardwalk will lead. Ah well, maybe after work I can do that. Have a great weekend
