Green Darner Dragonfly

This week's Free Wallpaper showing a Green Darner Dragonfly was contributed by Steve from Out On The Prairie. We have been seeing a lot of him around here recently, which makes us all very glad. Steve takes nature photos exclusively, and he doesn't leave home without his camera.

Let's let Steve tell about this photo in his own words.

"This is a Green Darner found skimming along the prairie streams at Otter Creek, near West Union, IA a popular trout fishing spot in NE Iowa. This small park has a diverse setting to see mink, otter, deer and a wide assortment of birds."

If you would like to see more of Steve's photos, and his excellent stories, you can find them at his blog, Out On The Prairie, and even more of his photos on his Flickr site. He writes fiction that is based on the lives of his family and friends. He interviewed them to get the essence of their experiences with nature and life on the prairie.
