Top Ten New Species List Of 2010

Today we have a list of the top ten new species of 2010. This list was compiled by The International Institute for Species Exploration at Arizona State University and an international committee of taxonomists.
These are scientists responsible for species exploration and classification. Let's go see what new species are on the list, and see a link to our source.

This top ten new species list isn't in any particular order.

    Nepenthes attenboroughii
  2. Bombardier Worm
    Swima bombiviridis
    Common name: Green bomber
  3. Udderly Weird Yam
    Dioscorea orangeana
    Common name: Angona (Also used for other yam species of northern Madagascar.)
  4. Bug-eating Slug
    Aiteng ater
    Common name: Aiteng
  5. Far-out Frogfish
    Histiophryne psychedelic
    Common name: Psychedelic frogfish
  6. Uber Orb-Weaver
    Nephila komaci
    Common name: Komac's golden orb spider 
  7. Small Favor
    Phallus drewesii
  8. Fanged Fish
    Danionella dracula
    Common name: Dracula minnow
  9. Short-circuited Electric Fish
    Gymnotus omarorum
    Common name: Omars' banded knifefish
  10. Killer Sponge
    Chondrocladia (Meliiderma) turbiformis

  1. I saw the programme on Attenborough's Pitcher it was really good..I went over and checked out the site...wish there had been something from Britain in the list!!
