Halloween Pennant Dragonfly

This week's Free Wallpaper of a Halloween Pennant Dragonfly was contributed by Steve from Out On The Prairie. We have been seeing a lot of him around here recently, which makes us all very glad. Steve takes nature photos exclusively, and he doesn't leave home without his camera. That's the kind of dedication I like.

Let's let Steve tell about this photo in his own words.

"This is a Halloween Pennant shot while fishing at Lake Wapello State Park near Drakesville, IA. The Pennant is a percher so often seen at the end of grasses, tree limbs and often on my fishing pole. This is one of my favorite birding areas, a stopover for many migrating flocks."

If you would like to see more of Steve's photos, and his excellent stories, you can find them at his blog, Out On The Prairie, and even more of his photos on his Flickr site. He writes fiction that is based on the lives of his family and friends. He interviewed them to get the essence of their experiences with nature and life on the prairie.
