Jeju Island

Our Cool Nature Video for this week is another of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Jeju Island is a volcanic island, 130 km from the southern coast of Korea. A main feature of Jeju is Hallasan, the tallest mountain in South Korea, a dormant volcano which rises 1,950 m above sea level. There are 360 satellite volcanoes around the main volcano.

"According to legend, three demi-gods emerged from Samsung-hyeol which is said to have been on the northern slopes of Mt. Halla and became the progenitors of the Jeju people who founded the Kingdom of Tamna." - Wikipedia
