Five Little Duckies

I have a little song that I loved to sing in elementary school about five little duckies. The author is unknown. As a child, my favorite part was the hand gestures we did along to the song. My younger grandchildren love my singing but my children will be happy to know that I will not be singing it to you. Perhaps some of you know it too.

Five Little Duckies

Five little duckies
I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones,
There were two

But the one little duckie
With the feather on his back
He ruled the others
With his quack, quack, quack.

He ruled the others
With his quack, quack, quack

Down to the river they would go
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
To and fro

But the one little duckie
With the feather on his back
He ruled the others
With his quack, quack, quack

He ruled the others
With his quack, quack, quack

Back from the river
They would come
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
Ho, hum, hum

But the one little duckie
With the feather on his back
He ruled the others
With his quack, quack, quack

He ruled the others
With his quack, quack, quack

  1. I remember that song from my childhood too, I also used to teach it to kids at camp.

I'm going to be humming this one for awhile.

  3. To SquirrelQueen: I am happy that I am not the only one who knows it. Sometimes my children and grandchildren think I make these things up!

To Don't Unplug Your Hub: The good thing about saying that you sang it when you were little is that you can admit to enjoying it. Children are allowed to have fun.

    Thank you both for commenting.

  4. I thought I knew this song, but it was all new to me.

  5. To Out On The Prairie: Maybe there is another song. Five seems to be a good number for baby animal poems.
