The Amazing Mimic Octopus

The mimic octopus can appear to change its shape to mimic many other different creatures. It is believed that this is done mainly for self defense, which is a good idea. But there are other uses for this ability as well. But how did it develop this complex ability? This is a skill that the other most intelligent creatures can't manage.

I have long been fascinated with octopi and their intelligence, so this will definitely not be the last video we see here of these wonderful creatures. Most others will deal with very different applications of their intelligence though. The video for today is a very good one, but I wish there was just a little more of it. It sounds frustratingly cut off at both ends. But what is in the video is still excellent material. You really don't want to miss this!
