Strange Animal Facts

Howdy, Folks. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I'm running a little late with my normal post. I don't want to leave you all in the lurch so... I am going to give you a few interesting facts about animals. I certainly hope you enjoy them and I'll be back to my explorations as soon as possible.

The fastest swimmer in the animal world is the sailfish; the slowest is the sea horse.

The heart of a blue whale is about the size of a small car.

A crocodile's tongue is attached to the roof of its mouth... it can't stick out its tonque.

The only creatures with flaps around their ears are mammals.

You can lead a cow up the stairs, but not down.

Sharks are immune to all known diseases.

Rats can survive longer without water than camels.

Each species of grasshopper has its own song.

The King Cobra is the largest poisonous snake in the world. A very small amount of its venom can kill 30 people.

A hen lays an average of 19 dozen eggs a year.

Bats always turn left when leaving the cave.

Elephants can smell water from 3 miles away.

A coin is heavier than a hummingbird.

All polar bears are left-handed.

A butterfly's tastebuds are in its feet.
